L’OREAL was founded in 1907 by the chemist Eugene SCHUELLER.

L’OREAL is an International Cosmetic Group (according to them: “L’OREAL is the most international of all cosmetics groups.”).

Their main activity is Cosmetics, and their following activities are dermatological, pharmaceutical and luxury goods activities.

They also have an important research activity in order to design and develop new products.

Moreover, they registered 501 patents in 2002 and 515 in 2003.
